Dimensions after rotation

A 90° or 270° rotation swaps output width and height. A 180° rotation and either flip keep the canvas dimensions.

Orientation tags versus pixels

The source is decoded using its EXIF orientation. Output writes the visible orientation into pixels, avoiding apps that ignore the original tag.

Frequently asked questions

Can rotation and flipping be combined?

Yes. Both transforms are applied in one output.

Is EXIF retained?

No. Canvas re-export removes source EXIF and similar metadata.
